Cookie policy

Tipuna Studio keeps advertising storage switched off until you say otherwise

This page names every cookie and browser storage key this site sets, in plain terms, and explains the difference between what runs automatically and what waits for your permission.

Essential cookies run without asking, because the site cannot work without them

This section decides which cookies are set the moment you load a page, before any consent choice, and why.

Tipuna Studio, a small portrait and location photography studio in Austin, Texas, uses three categories of cookies and browser storage on tipunaqe.com. Strictly necessary cookies hold the site together: they keep the inquiry form working, keep a chat conversation attached to your browser, and remember your cookie choice. Analytics storage counts visits and measures which pages get read, and only runs once you allow it. Advertising storage reads the click identifier attached to a paid ad and ties a later inquiry back to the campaign that sent you here, and it also only runs once you allow it.

Nothing in the essential category is used to build an advertising profile. It exists to make the form submit, the chat widget reconnect, and the banner stop asking twice.

Analytics storage stays denied until you allow it

This section decides what gets measured about how people use the site, and what stays off until permission is given.

Analytics storage tells us which of the three sittings gets read most before an inquiry, and whether a visitor arriving through a search for "Austin portrait photographer" leaves from the homepage or reads a full service page first. It does not tell us anything about your identity beyond an anonymised visit pattern.

Under Consent Mode v2, analytics_storage is set to denied by default on every page load. If you decline or never respond, analytics scripts run in a reduced mode that does not set cookies and does not attach a persistent identifier to your browser. Traffic still gets counted in aggregate, without a cookie doing the counting.

Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads send paid traffic to this site

This section names the advertising platforms running today and the identifier each one attaches to a click.

Tipuna Studio runs paid campaigns through Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising, and Meta Ads may run alongside them. When someone clicks a Tipuna Studio ad, the destination URL carries a click identifier: gclid from Google, msclkid from Microsoft, or fbclid from Meta. This site reads whichever parameter is present in the URL and, once advertising storage is allowed, passes it back to that platform so the platform can tell which ad led to an inquiry for a portrait, business portrait or location sitting.

None of this states or implies that any of these platforms has reviewed, approved or verified this site. Running ads through a platform is not an endorsement by it.

Changing your choice takes one click, on any page

This section is where you actually act: how to set your choice, what changes if you decline, where the platforms' own policies live, and who to ask about a specific cookie.

How the choice is given and changed

A banner appears on first visit with two buttons: "Allow storage" and "Decline." Your answer is written to a single browser storage key, site_consent_v2, and nothing else on this site persists a consent choice. To change your mind later, use the "Cookie choices" control in the footer of any page on this site, at any time — it reopens the same banner. This device also honours the Global Privacy Control signal, sent automatically by some browsers, as an opt-out — if your browser sends it, we treat that as a decline without asking again.

What still works if you decline

Declining does not break anything you need. The inquiry form still submits, the private gallery links still work once a session is delivered, and the chat widget still opens and sends messages. What stops is measurement and ad linkage: no analytics cookie is set, no click identifier is stored, and no advertising personalization signal is sent. A decline is remembered for 12 months, the same period as an allow, after which the banner asks again.

Where each platform's own policy lives

Google's handling of advertising and measurement data is described at policies.google.com. Microsoft Advertising's handling is described in the Microsoft privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com. Meta's handling, where a campaign runs there, is described in Meta's own data policy. None of these links are an endorsement of tipunaqe.com by the platform; they are where that platform's own rules for the data it receives are written down.
